FAQS
Tell me more ....
Guests are picked up near a local airport, sailed to beautiful remote beaches and villages, and returned to the same spot. Unlike a cruise ship that travels overnight, Life Goals anchors before sunset so guests can enjoy a calm evening, a great meal, and total relaxation before the next day’s adventure.
Stepping onto Life Goals might feel like stepping out of your comfort zone, but there’s no need to worry, even if you’re not a water person. Life Goals is a large, stable boat with plenty of safety gear and an experienced crew. Plus, we always stay close to land with other boats nearby.

How do we book and pay for our trip?
Start by choosing your dates and shooting us an email to check availability. Once we confirm, you can lock in your trip with a $2,000 deposit. As soon as we get the deposit, your dates are officially reserved.
What is the 14% Bahamian Charter tax for?
The Bahamian charter tax covers the government-required Value Added Tax (VAT), along with Charter Permit Fees for things like cruising and fishing permits. These taxes and fees help ensure that your trip follows all the rules, so you can relax and enjoy the beautiful Bahamas!
Are your dates flexible?
We’re happy to extend your stay for an additional cost, as long as there aren’t any overlapping bookings.
can we arrive early/ leave late?
To give our crew time to reset, we ask that guests arrive after 12:00 pm on arrival day and depart before 12:00 pm on departure day. We are happy to hold or pick up your luggage early if needed!
How do we get to and from the boat?
By dinghy, or “tender,” which is the small boat we use to take guests and supplies between land and the main boat, plus it’s great for exploring shallow areas. It can get splashy when the wind and waves pick up, so we recommend quick-dry clothes. Life jackets aren’t required to be worn, but we’re happy to provide one if you need one! We also have various sized dry bags on board for your electronics.
Where should I book my flights to?
When you book your flights, please keep in mind that some trips may require using a secondary local airline. Once you fly in, you’ll take a taxi from the airport to our anchorage which will vary depending on weather. We’ll let you know a few days before you land where you’ll be meeting us, but it will never be too far from the airport. We’ll pick you up in the dinghy, usually we take bags out first while guests relax on the beach or grab a drink.
Exumas – Fly into Nassau and use Flamingo air fly in and out of Blackpoint Airport (MYEB)
Eleuthera – Fly into Northern Eleuthera Airport via Pineapple air or other major carriers. (MYEH)
Georgetown – Fly into Exuma International Airport (MYEF)
Florida Keys – Fly into Key West (EYW)
Are you insured and Licensed?
Life Goals is fully insured. Both Jerrell and Nichole hold a USCG Captains License. They have been chartering for several years along the Florida Panhandle. Guest will be expected to sign a liability waiver before they board the boat.
Should we bring cash or debit cards?
Cash is king in the Bahamas, especially when it comes to tipping your crew at the end of your trip (wink wink). Some places take cards, but it’s not always a sure thing. US dollars are accepted just like Bahamian dollars, and there are ATMs around. Just make sure to spend any Bahamian dollars before you head out!
Will we have internet service?
We have Starlink internet onboard Life Goals, which should be available the majority of our trip. Keep in mind, Starlink doesn’t support regular calls or SMS. But don’t worry, the Bahamas has pretty good service! Your phone carrier will usually charge a daily or weekly fee for international usage. Be sure to check with your carrier before you leave home.
What are our accommodations like?
Life Goals has three guest cabins, each with a queen sized bed and private head “bathroom”. Each cabin is equipped with a standard 110-volt American style outlet with USB ports and ample storage. Each head has its own shower, toilet, and sink. They’re private and pretty roomy, with hot water available most of the time. That said, we do encourage guests to keep showers quick and to not allow the water to run continuously during your shower. We have to make and heat all the water onboard. Not hard to do, but I bet you’d prefer us taking you on adventures instead of staying back to run the water maker, right? If you need hot water and it’s not ready, just let us know, and we’ll turn the heater on for you.
There’s also a freshwater hose at the back of the boat for rinsing off. Whenever you come aboard Life Goals, please wash your feet and any part of your body that got salty. Salt water is super corrosive, and if it gets on fabric, it’ll feel damp for days. Trust me—you don’t want to get into bed feeling salty!
The toilets are pretty similar to a regular one at home, but with two buttons: one brings salt water in, and the other uses a macerator (like a sink’s garbage disposal) to flush waste. It’s really important to use only a small amount of toilet paper and NEVER flush anything else—no sanitary pads or non-human waste, please. There’s a small trash can under the sink for anything else. If a toilet clogs, it’s a big issue and your captain will have to spend hours fixing it, making the whole boat smell… and no one wants that!
A VERY, VERY important rule…..other than conservative amounts of toilet paper, If it did not come out of YOUR BODY it DOES NOT go INTO the POTTY please.
What should I bring with me?
We’ve got you covered with all the linens, pillows, and towels you’ll need. Essentials like toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are included, but be sure to pack any personal toiletries you love. Just bring a few swimsuits, reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses, flip-flops, and a hat—Life Goals and her crew will take care of the rest for an unforgettable adventure!
Heads-up for the over-packers: hard suitcases aren’t ideal since your bags stay in your cabin. A collapsible duffle bag or backpack is the way to go!
A few extra things to consider: cover-ups or sun shirts, outfits for dinner ashore, comfy clothes for lounging after a hot shower, a light jacket for breezy nights, and a rain jacket just in case.
Leave the jeans at home and opt for quick-dry clothes—you never know when you might get splashed or caught in a rain shower. To keep things clean, shoes aren’t allowed on Life Goals or in the dinghy. Clean house slippers or non-marking boat shoes are fine as long as they’re boat-only. Flip-flops are perfect for shore trips, and if you’re a fan of sneakers, just plan to only wear them when you’re on land.
Will I get seasick?
A big misconception about our trips is that we’re out at sea, far from land, with huge waves and rough seas.
In reality, Life Goals is usually within a mile (or less) of an island. We always sail on the calm side of the island (the side sheltered from the wind and waves). While small chop and waves are sometimes unavoidable, unless you specifically request an offshore adventure, you’ll only experience gentle, non-intimidating waters.
Life Goals is very a stable vessel, and when anchored, you’ll barely feel the boat move. While sailing, there’s more motion than a cruise ship but much less than smaller boats. Most people who get seasick on small boats do fine on Life Goals. If you’re prone to motion sickness, bring a sea sickness medication or patch that you have previously tested for adverse reactions.
Do you provide life Jackets?
Yes, we have adult-sized, near-shore rated life jackets for everyone on board, plus three children’s jackets (1 infant under 30 lbs, 1 child 33-55 lbs, and 1 youth 50-90 lbs). That said, we recommend parents bring their own life jackets that are properly fitted for their child.
do you provide fishing and snorkeling gear?
Yes, we’ve got pole spears, masks, snorkels, and fins for guests to use! If you plan to spend a lot of time in the water or have small children, we recommend bringing your own mask and snorkel for a better fit.
We also have offshore and light tackle fishing combos for you to try out. We’ll show you how to use them, but if anything gets damaged, you’ll need to cover the replacement cost. A few lost lures are no big deal, but anything more will need to be replaced.
do we tip the crew?
Yes, it’s customary to tip your crew in cash, just like you would for any other service. The average tip is around 20% or more in the charter industry. Most of your trip cost goes toward things like insurance, licenses, and boat expenses, so your tip really helps the crew with personal expenses. We truly appreciate it!
What about the weather?
In the sailing world, weather is always a factor and sometimes out of our hands. Activities and destinations might change depending on the conditions. While we don’t usually reschedule trips due to weather, in rare cases where it’s possible, we’ll consider it for severe weather. However, deposits made for your trip are non refundable.
